5.4.2

Stopping the mower

If you want to stop the engine after intensive use, let it idle for at least 4 minutes to let it cool
down a bit.

When the engine has cooled down (approx. 1 hour after the last use), remove all the grass from
the

engine’s

cooling fins, drive belt cover fins, and rotor shaft before operating the machine

again.

6

ADJUSTMENTS

The mower should be operated at an acceptable height to conduct precise work. You must set the
mowing height properly to save power and reduce the wear of the machine.

6.1

Belts drive system with centrifugal clutch

The newly developed MATV-flail mower has made crucial design improvements. The introduction
of the belt-drive system with a high precision clutch leads to a drive system with a virtually 100%
power transfer rate and almost 0% belt slippage over the years. Belt slippage on belt systems is a
major issue leading to belt failure.

6.1.1

Drive belts tension adjustment

The belt tensioning is possible by lifting the entire engine platform with a well-accessible
mechanism.

Because the engine bracket parts are mounted with bolts in slotted holes, one can adjust the
belt tension by moving the platform bracket parts in relation to each other.

Never run the machine with the pulley cover removed.

Drive belts tension check

It is essential for both optimal machine performance and long-lasting belt lifetime that the belts
are correctly tensioned at all times.

After an initial first 2 hours of work, check belt tension.
