first number is the number of images per second processed from the main board. The second number is
the number of images recorded to hard disk if recording or loopback mode is active. The third number is
the number of images being played back. “NNN” is the number of images per second multiplied by 10 for
this window. For example, NNN of 125 is 12.5 images per second.
4. Switch Delay is the number of milliseconds of delay used when switching either the main or the record
board’s video input from one camera to the next. A longer value will stop any missing color or video
tearing type problems, but will reduce the image update rate. You shouldn’t need to change these values.
5. Main, Option 1 and Option 2 Image Rate shows the current images per second being captured for the
Main Display from each of the 3 input digital processing channels.

Calibrating Cameras
You may need to calibrate your cameras, adjust the gain manually or manually set the camera type. You will
typically do this under the supervision of Vicon Technical Support [1-800-34-VICON (1-800-348-4266)] if you
see a rolling picture or other problems.
1. Access the following menus if directed to do so by a Vicon Technical Support representative.

CAMERA AUTO CALIBRATE
2. Select Camera Types. The AurorAcorD optimizes gain for Surveyor camera domes. Select the
appropriate camera models on the Camera Types screen to take advantage of this feature.
3. Return to the Camera Calibration screen and run the auto calibration routine to measure the IRE sync
level for each camera. The level should be between 35 and 45 IRE (note that 1 IRE is equal to 7.14
millivolts). Check for double termination if the IRE = 26 or lower. Check amplifier if the IRE = 54 or more.
4. Return to the Camera Calibration screen and fine tune the gain from the auto calibrate screen using the
Manual Gain Adjustment screen, under the direction of a Vicon Technical Support Representative.
