Viewing Video Images from Floppy Disk
Note: Disregard this section for AURC-CD320 and AURC-CD500 as they do not include a floppy disk.
You may either of the following software packages to view images from the floppy disk on a PC:
•
AurorAcorD Floppy Player
•
Windows
Media Player
.
To install the AurorAcorD Floppy Player on your PC, insert the AurorAcorD CD into your PC and use the
Windows
Start Menu to select “setup.exe” from the FloppyPlayer folder. Follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: The AurorAcorD CD contains documentation on the Floppy Player in the help file. You may also find
this information in the Reference chapter of this manual.
To use Windows
Media Player
(installation not required), you must have already installed the AurorAcorD
Floppy or CD Player on your PC to write a needed file to your hard disk, or you may install this file yourself by
choosing “setup.exe” from the Codec folder.
You may view video images from the floppy disk as follows:
1. Copy video to the floppy disk by inserting the disk and then archiving data to the floppy. These
operations are discussed in previous sections of this chapter.
2. Eject the floppy and insert it into a Pentium-grade PC.
3. The filename for the archive will be CameraXX.avi, where XX is the camera number 1-16. Use
Media Player (version 6.4 or newer) or the AurorAcorD Floppy Player to view the video.
Note: The number of images saved on the floppy depends upon the Quality setting (discussed in the
Recording section of the Programming chapter). For a Quality setting of Normal, over 90 images may
be saved to disk.
Recording Video & Audio
Note: Use loopback mode, discussed in the Programming chapter, to define quality and sensitivity. You may
also set audio parameters while in loopback mode.
Video, audio, alarm information and the time of the last disk erase are continuously recorded to the
AurorAcorD hard disk. Recording parameters are defined as discussed in the Programming chapter. Perform
the following procedure to select cameras to be recorded.
Note: The rear panel Audio Out jack is disabled when the front panel Audio Out jack is used. This allows a
speaker to be permanently plugged into the rear jack while headphones are used in the front jack for
private review of audio.)
1. Access the Record List screen to define which cameras will be recorded as follows. Press

the menu system, if applicable.
