Configuring the Power meter

User Manual

Select the power meter icon in the OTDR functions section.
It turns yellow to show it is active

The measurement parameters can be accessed with the

ETUP

key.

Configuring the Measurement parameters

From the results page, press the

Setup

menu key

to configure the measurement parameters.

Wavelength

Select desired wavelength - also directly available on the main
result page:

Auto

: Identify automatically the wavelength when used with

VIAVI optical light sources :

1310, 1490, 1550, 1625 or 1650 nm

: measurement performed

at specified wavelength.

Beep on modulation

Set it to

Yes

if a sound must be emitted when a modulation

occurs.

•

Unit

Power level measurement unit:

Watt

dBm

for absolute power level measurement

for relative power level measurement, where a reference

has been performed (link loss / insertion loss)

The Powermeter icons of the singlemode port and of the Multimode port
cannot be selected at the same time. When one is selected, it automatically
deselects the other one.
