What special characters can be used for the Profile names?
Only spaces or hyphens can be used.

How is the Profile Manager used to configure the Ookla Speedtest?

To work with any public Ookla server
y
Select “Auto Server” in the test Profile; will select a server that is selected
automatically by Ookla.

To work with any public Ookla server located in a Provider Network
1. Unselect “Auto Server”.
2. Enter the specific Ookla server details (see example below).

Server URL = stosat-balt-01.sys.comcast.net:8080

Server Location = Baltimore, MD
3. Alternatively

Leave the “Server URL” blank.

Enter the string of characters you want to filter the Ookla Server name
details with in the “Server Location”.
Why can SpeedCheck results be so high?
While SpeedCheck does use HTTP over TCP as the Application/Transport layer for test
execution it reports the layer 2 rate.

e.g. 987 Mbps (L2 speed) displayed instead of the 949 Mbps (L4 speed) on a 1G link
Initially on ONX-CATV/DSL, this was done intentionally to prevent a discrepancy between
the rate that CPE devices are provisioned for and the rate that is measured by our
throughput test, so a legacy from MSOs/CATV.
