6 Using your Viasat box
Installation
Caution
Your box operates with 230 V AC, 50 Hz mains supplies.
Do not connect it to a DC power supply .
The supplied mains lead has a 2-way connector at one end and a mains plug at the
other. You should always insert the 2-way connector into your box before you insert the
plug into the mains supply.
The only way to disconnect your box from the mains is to remove the mains lead. Your
box must therefore be installed near to the mains socket-outlet, which should be easily
accessible.
If you are in any doubt about the mains lead, its plug or its connection, consult a competent electrician.
Switching on for the first time
When you connect your box to the mains, your box’s front panel lights go through a start-
up sequence. After about 20 seconds, your box is switched on and out of standby, and the
standby light is green.
Make sure your TV is switched on.
Your box automatically starts searching for listings. This can take several minutes.
After completing this process, your box automatically switches to a channel.
If you do not receive a signal
If no signal is received, the following message displays.
Check all connections. Check the LNB and Transponder settings (see pages 51 to 55)
