PointR Tool:

 Once the expander plug is fully seated in the steerer tube, place the PointR tool

 (or 

a 4mm Allen key) into the upper wedge Allen key slot

, then rotate the upper wedge so that 

the PointR tool can align with and drop into the lower wedge Allen key slot. This will ensure 

that the brake cable holes in the upper and lower wedge are properly aligned.

 is aligned with the arrow etching on 

the expander plug sleeve, and that the arrow is pointing toward the front of the fork and bike.

Tighten the expander plug to 45 in-lbf (5.1 Nm).

C. REMOVING THE EXPANDER PLUG 

(if necessary)

PullR Tool:

Loosen the expander bolt.

 

„

Lightly tap the bolt down to dislodge the lower 
wedge.

 

„

Remove the expander plug bolt.

The PullR tool is a custom tool designed to 

thread into and remove the expander plug.

 

„

Thread the PullR tool into the upper wedge until it bottoms out in the expander plug, then turn 
the lever clockwise to pull the upper wedge out of the expander body.

 

„

Once the upper wedge is removed, the expander sleeve can be removed as well.

If the system is fully installed and the steerer tube needs to be cut shorter, the 

housing will have to be removed from the fork and the housing installation 

steps must be repeated with a new piece of housing.
