T he vibrating level switch is a measuring instrument and must
be treated accordingly . B ending the vibrating element will
destroy the instrument .
W arning :
T he housing must not be used to screw the instrument in !
A pplying tightening force on the housing can damage its
rotational mechanical parts .
T o screw in , use the hexagon above the thread .
4 . 2 M ounting instructions
A gitators , equipment vibration , etc ., can cause the level switch
to be subjected to strong lateral forces . F or this reason , do not
use an overly long extension tube for VEGAWAVE 63 , but
check if you can mount a short level switch on the side of the
vessel in horizontal position .
E xtreme vibration caused by the process or the equipment , e .
g . agitators or turbulence in the vessel e . g . from fl uidization ,
can cause the extension tube of VEGAWAVE 63 to vibrate in
resonance . T his leads to increased stress on the upper weld
joint . S hould a longer tube version be necessary , you can
provide a suitable support or guy directly above the tuning fork
to secure the extension tube .
T his measure applies particularly to applications in E x areas .
M ake sure that the tube is not subjected to bending forces
through this measure .
I f VEGAWAVE 63 is mounted in the fi lling stream , unwanted
false measurements may be generated . M ount VEGAWAVE
63 at a location in the vessel where no disturbing in fl uence
from e . g . fi lling openings , agitators , etc . can occur .
T his applies particularly to instrument types with long
extension tube .
