Cable Modem - VeTest

Pass Through tab:
Provides the ability to emulate a real cable modem. In the Setup screen, select Pass Through for the Test Mode and press Connect. Once the Cable Modem goes online,
connect a PC to the CX350 meter's 10/100/1000T RJ45 port at the top of the unit. Traffic will pass through the CX350 meter, which functions like an actual cable modem.

7.6 Upstream Signal Generator (USG)
Overview:
The Upstream Signal Generator (USG) function generates a QAM signal for upstream or reverse path testing.
Enhanced USG + FEC
The USG+FEC option supports CW, CW 2-tone QPSK, QAM-16 Annex A, QAM-64 Annex B, QAM-128 Annex A and QAM-256 Annex B signal generation.
QAM-16 STD Annex A, QAM-64 STD Annex A and QAM-128 STD Annex A are with ITU standard interleave (i & j) settings.
The frequency is adjustable in the range 5 MHz to 65 MHz
The level is adjustable over a dynamic range of 60 dBuV to 120 dBuV or 0 dBmV to 60 dBmV. When a digital modulation is selected, a symbol rate of
1.28Mbps, 2.56Mbps and 5.12Mbps with bandwidths of 1.6 MHz, 3.2 MHz and 6.4 MHz respectively can be selected.
CX350’s USG+FEC option can continuously generate the selected signal after it is activated by selecting the LEAVE ON option upon exiting the USG+FEC menu. This
allows a user to perform other measurements while the USG+FEC stays on.
