When setting the volume, please make sure that traffic noises (horns, sirens, emer-
gency vehicles, etc.) are still audible.

Turn the

button to set the volume.

to activate the mute function.

again or turn the volume control to deactivate the mute function.

No navigation messages, traffic announcements* or telephone calls** are transmit-
ted when muting is activated.
* If the “Traffic info” function is switched on.

Menu operation
The central element for operating the menus is the right rotary control. In a small
number of cases, the search buttons

and

are also used for operating the menu
(e.g. equalizer).

Turn the right rotary control to select a menu option

Press the right rotary control to confirm the selection and activate the function.

If the menu is extended by a bar on
the left, you can use the rotary con-
trol to set the required value or the
required option.

Press the right rotary control in order
to adopt the setting

Press the
CLR
button to quit the
menu without adopting the set
value.
Entering characters
Characters are entered by selecting let-
ters, numbers and symbols from a list.
Hereinafter, this type of entering will
simply be called “typewriter”.

Move the cursor to the desired char-
acter.

Confirm your selection.

The character will be added to the
string of characters already entered.

Non-selectable characters are displayed as dots and will be passed over automati-
cally by the cursor.
