Time allowances for such w ork are not

included in the scope of regular services
and will b e charged for add itionally. It is

more economic if these operations are
performed as part of a sc heduled service

than having them performed separately.

Severe op er ating cond itions

Operating conditions are classified as

severe when one or more of the follow ing
oc curs freq uently:

cold starts,

stop and go,

trailer/caravan towing,

gradients and/or high altitud es,

poor road surfa ces,

sand and dust,

extreme temperature fluctuations.

Police vehic les, taxis and d riv ing school

vehicles a re also classified as operating
under severe c onditions.

Under severe operating conditions, it m ay
be necessary to have certain scheduled

service w ork done more frequently than the
scheduled intervals.
For example, if fuel is used that does not
comply with req uired stand ards, the fuel

filter m ay need more freq uent draining or
replacem ent and it may also b e necessary

to change other components more often
(e.g. spark plug s).
It is recommend ed to seek tec hnical advice
on the servicing requirements dep endent

on the specific operating cond itions of your
vehicle.
