Drive Gear Cleaning
Overtime, filament bits may accumulate in the drive gear’s teeth, causing the gear to lose grip on the filament. In this
situation, we will need to remove the drive gear from the extruder and clean off the filament debris.
With a 1.75mm hex key, insert it from the top of the extruder cap and rotate the motor shaft to line up the set screw
with the hex key. Rotate counter-clockwise to loosen the set screw and pull out the drive gear from the motor shaft.
With a razor or a brush, remove any filament debris from the drive gear teeth, taking care not to damage any of the
teeth. Once the gear is cleaned, slide it back onto the motor shaft and line up the groove with the bearing. Make sure to
also tighten the set screws down on the flat edge of the motor shaft.
