The mounting flange and lead insert are mounted on the X-ray tube by 4 countersunk screws. The
collimator is mounted to the mounting flange by 3 fixing wedges, see Figure 5

Mounting spacers
Apply mounting spacers to adjust the distance from the collimator mounting plane and the X-ray tube
focal point.
The collimator mounting plane distance must be 80 mm ± 1 mm (3.15" ± 0.039") from the focal point of
the X-ray tube.
Steps to determine the mounting spacers needed, see for distance explanation Figure 6:
1.
Determine “h1” [mm]
: Distance from the X-ray tube focal point to the tube port face.
2.
Determine “h2” [mm]
: Height of the mounting flange.
3.
Calculate “h3 [mm]
: Space to be filled up with spacers: h3 = 80 – h1 – h2
4.
Select the mounting spacers to fill the space “h3”. Allowable tolerance is ± 1 mm.
