Mounting of the mounting flange and spacers
1.
Place the mounting spacers (when required) on the tube
2.
Place the mounting flange and lead insert on top
3.
Fix all with the countersunk screws to the X-ray tube. Ensure that sufficient thread is used and
the screws fix the flange properly to the X-ray tube mounting surface.
Warning:
To ensure the safety of the operator and the patient, the Technical Manual of the
X-ray tube must be consulted for instructions on fastening torque and locking.
NOTE:
When an existing mounting flange is used, ensure that the lead insert is not
damaged.
Mount the collimator on the mounting flange
After the mounting flange and mounting spacers are fixed to the X-ray tube, the collimator can be
mounted on the mounting flange.
Warning:
To ensure the safety of the operator and the patient, the instructions must be
followed correctly. Hazard of falling collimator.
1.
Unscrew the set screws (3x) until all flange locks are fully retracted.
2.
Carefully place the collimator with the top shutters down and centered over the mounting
flange.
3.
Extend the flange locks (Figure 7) with the set screws until the collimator is secured but not
tightened.
4.
Centre the collimator to the mounting flange.
5.
Tighten all set screws equally until the collimator is held firmly on the mounting flange.
Warning:
Make sure that the flange locks extend over the mounting flange. Appropriate
tightening of the set screws ensures secure mounting of the collimator.
