How to Wear Safety Belts Properly
You can be seriously injured, or even
killed, by not wearing your safety
harness properly.
•
Never allow the harness to
become loose or twisted.
•
Never wear the shoulder
straps without securing the
latch plate into the buckle
across the chest.
•
Never drive or ride in the
vehicle without correctly
wearing and securing the
harness.
•
Never buckle the safety belt
behind you and rest your
back on the harness.
Securing The Harness
All seats have a 4-point harness safety belt.
The following instructions explain how to
wear a harness properly:
1.
2.
Sit up straight.
Insert your arms under each
vertical belt of the harness until
the belt rests squarely on your
shoulders and around your hips.
Do not let the vertical belt
become twisted.
3.
Grasp the latch plate and pull
the belt across your body. Do
not allow the belt to become
twisted.
4.
Push the latch plate into the
buckle until a click is heard.
5.
Grasp and pull the
thin
black
nylon straps upward to
tighten
the harness snugly on
your
shoulders until the
buckle is
across your waist.
If you ever have any questions or concerns
about your harness safety belts, contact
your Vanderhal

dealer for assistance.
WARNING
Statistics show that unbelted people are
hurt more often in crashes than those who
are wearing safety belts.
There are important things to know about
wearing a 4-point harness safety belt
properly:
•
Sit up straight and always keep
your feet on the floor in front of
you.
•
Wear the harness snugly over
the shoulders, around the hips
and across the waist. These
parts of the body are best able
to take belt restraining forces.
The shoulder belts lock if there
is a sudden stop or crash.
This section is only for people of adult size.
Follow these rules for everyone's
protection. It is especially important for all
occupants to buckle up.
