[Replace when] The heating element breaks,
unevenness is generated, or when the
seal becomes messy, etc.
[Essential tools] Phillips screwdriver

When replacing the heating element with the
different width:

The heating element is covered with the fluoro
glass sheet. Remove the fluoro glass sheet
referring to "9-1 Slide the lower fluoro glass
sheet" and/or
“9-3 Replace the center-dry tape”

Remove the electrode cover securing screws
that is installed on the both sides of electrode
using a Philips screwdriver. Then, Remove the
electrode cover.

Lift the electrode lever upward for the lower
heating element or downward for the upper
heating element. Use a Philips screwdriver to
loosen the screw that secures the heating
element.

Loosen the screw and remove the damaged
heating element.

With the electrode lever still lifted upward/
downward, insert the new heating element into
the electrode groove. Make sure that the
heating element stays in place with the
electrode as you securely tighten the screw to
keep the heating element in place. After
tightening the securing screw, return the
electrode lever to the initial position.
The FAS-402 series is shipped with 10mm width
heating element mounted at the time of factory
shipment.
When you change to the 5mm heating element, you
will need to adjust the seal condition (heating
temperature, heating time, and cooling temperature)
again. Please set the optimum seal condition for your
film.
Please also adjust the seal condition when you
change the heating element from 5mm to 10mm.
9-4 Replace the heating element
Caution
For your safety always attach the electrode
cover after installing the heating element.
Always use a
Van der Stahl
designated,
special heating element for replacement.
Using a heating element other than the
designated heating element may cause
the transformer to be heat-damaged.
