SMART-PULP
Smart Consistency Transmitter
Pressing the RIGHT arrow key on the menu’s
second line will display the alarm current in
milliamps. This can only be changed from the
transmitter’s operator keys. The options are 3.7 mA
and 22.5 mA. The transmitter will run this current if it
has found a fault e.g. in its memories or in A/D
conversion, which indicates that force
measurements are faulty. In other words, the
transmitter will run the specified alarm current if it is
not able to measure reliably and to run the current
corresponding to the actual consistency.
On the menu’s third line you can read and, with the
RIGHT arrow key, change the transmitter’s mounting
orientation. HU indicates the upper side of a
horizontal pipe and HS the side of a horizontal pipe.
VU indicates upward flow in vertical pipe.
On the menu’s fourth and fifth lines you can read
and, with the RIGHT arrow key, change the sensor
blade’s type and material. These affect the
calibration curves and the sensor blade’s own weight
which is taken into account in shear force
calculation. Line 4 (blade type) must be
programmed correctly. Before changing the
blade type read the NOTE on page 12!
You can exit this menu with the LEFT arrow key.
Pressing the RIGHT arrow key at 3 Device info will
open the following menu:

To change an item, select the desired line with the
cursor and then press the RIGHT arrow key. Press
the LEFT arrow or ENTER to exit the menu.
Pressing the RIGHT arrow key at 3 Calibration in the
main menu will open the following menu:
SMARTPULP: tag
Calibration
1 New recipe
2 Sampling
3 Lab results
4 Special grade
5 Tempr calibrations
To create a new recipe, press the RIGHT arrow key
on line 1. You first select the recipe number with the
RIGHT arrow key. This will open the following
display:
SMARTPULP:CIC-2200
Recipe n
1 Pulp
2 Fillers
3 P1
4 P2
When required, this display allows you to change the
pulp type, filler content, curve slope correction factor
P1 and offset correction factor P2. You do not have
to touch P1 and P2 in a normal situation where
calibration is done with the Calibration menu’s
Sampling and Lab Results commands. You can also
omit the filler content (Fillers) in normal situations
where a separate recipe is created for each
combination of pulp type and filler content.
Sampling/Lab Results calibration also takes into
account the effect of filler content on zero level and
curve slope. You define the P1 and P2 parameters
when you replace a faulty transmitter with a spare
transmitter and do not want to perform sampling and
laboratory analysis. If the Diagnostics menu’s TRIM-
F function has been performed on the transmitter
after installing the sensor blade, entering these four
parameters intro the recipe will make the new
transmitter behave identically with the replaced
trnasmitter, provided that the configuration is also
identical. Increasing or decreasing the P2 offset
parameter of the recipe changes the output
correspondingly.
You can create 1 to 8 recipes. You can add new
recipes and revise existing ones at any time.
When you have changed the required parameters
and returned to this menu, the text box SEND is
displayed at the bottom of the display. This means
that the programming unit contains altered data
which has not yet been sent to the transmitter. When
you press F2, the data is transferred to the
transmitter and the text box disappears.
