When the sensor is installed directly
after a pump, it must be on the side
where the pump throws the pulp (see po-
sition 1 in the previous picture and the
photo on the right). In position 6 it is on
the opposite side, where the pulp flow is
not steady and cavities may form.
7. Air pockets are likely to develop in up-
ward bends in the pipeline, and this will
disrupt the measurement because the
sensor will not always be in contact with
pulp.
