Safety instructions and regulations
3.1 Safety
instructions
The heat pump must be installed by an approved techni-
cian, who will be responsible for adhering to the existing
standards and regulations. We accept no liability for any
damage caused by failure to observe these instructions.
Find out the transport and operating weights of the heat
pump from the Technical Data and take heed of them
during transportation and installation. Pay particular at-
tention to Chap. 4.2, "Requirements of the installation
site", before assembly.

Danger!
The coolant circuit is pressurised. Fur-
thermore, high temperatures can arise.
The appliance may only be opened and
serviced by Vaillant factory customer
service or by a qualified specialist tech-
nician. Work on the coolant circuit may
only be carried out by a qualified refrig-
eration engineer.

Risk of electric shock!
Always switch off all power supplies be-
fore carrying out any electrical installa-
tion or servicing work. Make sure that
they are secured against inadvertent
switching on again.

Caution!
Risk of damage!
Do not add any antifreeze or corrosion
protection agents to the heating water,
as seals and other components can be
damaged as a result and this can lead to
water leaks.
If the heating water hardness is above 3,0 mmol/l
(21,05 °e) it should be softened. You can use the
Vaillant ion exchanger (Art. No. 990 349) for this. Ob-
serve the enclosed instructions for use.

The incoming ground water must be
checked for quality to ensure that no
damage occurs to the suction well, pipes
or evaporator.
