4. INSTALLATION
Warning
: the telephone dialer installation must be executed by a skilled technical staff, according to current
laws and regulations.
The telephone dialer must be wall mounted, in enclosed places and in a dry space.
For GSM module telephone dialers, avoid positions that can cause reduction of GSM
fi
eld strenght or
its loss, or subject to electromagnetic noise. For this reason the dialer must not be placed on reinforced
concrete walls, in basements, close to metal structures, near electric motors.
4.1 MOUNTING
4.1.1 OPENING
Open the telephone dialer as follows:
Remove the central plate in relief.
Remove the front lid, by unscrewing the cross screw placed in the front panel.
Remove the back lid, by rotating the two latches A to the open position. Help lid detaching from the
support by inserting a screw driver in the four side block positions B.
Screw the provided antenna on the suitable connector C.

4.1.2 SIM INSERTION
For GSM module telephone dialer (1033/471 and 1033/472), it is necessary to perform the following
preliminary operations:
1. If necessary for the SIM and/or for the mobile network carrier, use a mobile to enable the SIM and
disable its PIN before inserting the SIM in the GSM module).
2. Release the SIM holder, by pressing the lille button nearby, and slide it along its guides.
3. Put the SIM in the holder, taking care contacts are visible, and put again the holder in its housing (when
sliding the holder, SIM contacts must face the GSM module).
WARNING
: correct operation with USIM 3 is not ensured.
4.1.3 GSM FIELD CONTROL
For GSM module telephone dialer (1033/471 and 1033/472), it is necessary to check the GSM
fi
eld level
in the precise point where it should be placed. To perform the test it is necessary to power up the dialer
(for its connection, see paragraph about connections) and follow instructions in paragraph
2.3.3 Telephone
connection test – GSM

The test result must be
Excellent
or
Good
at least. If results are different, it will be necessary to
fi
nd another
installation place for the telephone dialer. If it is not possible to move the dialer, it would be suitable to move
the antenna only, or change the antenna, as shows in the paragraph GSM antenna.
4.1.4 FIXING
The telephone dialer can be
fi
xed on a 3-modules
fl
ush mounting box or wall mounted.
FIXING ON 3-MODULES FLUSH MOUNTING BOX
1. Fix the back lid on a 3-modules box, using the provided screws. The correct
fi
xing direction is indicated
by ALTO/TOP, written on the lid. In case of PSTN module telephone dialer mounting, open the pre-
fractured passage aperture for PSTN line.
2. On the dialer support, open the pre-fractured apertures for the passage of the required cables (power
supply, inputs, output, etc.). In case of PSTN module telephone dialer mounting, break also the pre-
fractured passage aperture for PSTN line.
