Cradle
The Tilly has a cradle. The cradle is a construction to which the sling
is attached in which the user sits. The cradle is connected to the
lifting arm by means of a coupling piece (cardan). This coupling
piece ensures that the cradle can rotate and tilt freely, so that a
comfortable transfer can be made using balance. There are three
types of cradle available for the Tilly:
• Electric Powered Cradle
• Manual Cradle
• Two Point Spreader Bar
The manual cradle and the electric cradle can bring the user in both
a sitting and a laying position.
The manual cradle sets itself in the correct position and the electric
cradle does this with the push of a button. Attaching the sling to
the cradle is done with clips on the sling.
The two-point spreader is used in combination with slings with
loops. These loops can be hung on the hooks of the two-point
spreader bar. Due to the different lengths of loops, the user can be
lifted both laying down and sitting.
In many cases, the leg loops must be attached crosswise to the
spreader bar.
2.10
Slings
When lifting, the user seeks place in a sling and is attached to the
yoke with clips or loops. There are different types and sizes of
slings, each with their own application (§4.4 p.18). Some patients
may only be lifted with a certain type of sling.
Always use a well-fitting sling. The model is in the label that is
sewn onto the sling. It says the type, model, size, serial number,
etc. Always leave the label on the tire.
Always follow the agreements made about the type of
sling with which the user must be lifted. Check the sling
regularly for wear.
Check the tape and clips for damage before use. Before
lifting and during lifting, check that the clips are
positioned correctly.
2.10.1 Boning/Ribs
The sling must support the patient in both a sitting and a laying
position. For additional support of the head and neck, two plastic
ribs must be placed in the slots provided on the main side.
