Connecting the thermocouple

Connector pin assignments

Conforming terminal block:

ETB42040G011S (manufactured by ECE)

Color code of thermocouples specified by JIS and ANSI

Refer to P.54 "8-4.Thermocouple input" for details.

Connection procedure

Strip the electric wire to connect by
5mm.
Electric wires from 0.21 to 3.31mm

(AWG12 to 24) can be connected.

Twist it enough so that the tip does not
spread.

Loosen screws with a screwdriver and
open the connection port.
Using a #1 cross slot screwdriver with a
shaft diameter of 3 to 3.5mm is
recommended (precision screwdrivers
and so on).

Insert the electric wire into the
connection port while making sure that
the tip does not spread.

Tighten screws using a screwdriver.
The recommended tightening torque value is 0.5Nm.

Slightly pull the electric wire to check that it does not detach.

Insert the plug with the electric wire connected to the UPM100 main unit and
tighten the screws (two locations).
