Sageon II 200A (N+1) Power Distribution System
Sageview
PM990-5202-200, Rev. 6
5-7
5.9.2 Initial Settings
The following settings should be made when Sageview is initially installed: password, access code, and
communication selections (e.g. phone numbers, modem characteristics). The password and access code
functions provide security to prevent unauthorized access to the SCU in the Sageon 200A and to your
company’s data.
Communications between the SCU and a local or remote PC can be enabled once the initial security
measures are in place.
5.9.2.1 Password - Remote PC
When password protection is enabled at a remote PC, the ability to change critical Sageview screens and
upload to the Sageon 200A is restricted to those able to enter the password. The password is not uploaded
to the Sageon 200A or to any other connected PC. It is in effect only on the PC at which it was entered. If
several PCs are networked and able to read Sageon 200A data, each can have a unique password or they
can have the same password.
IMPORTANT:
A secure password is required for a secure installation.
Password guidelines
•
The default user name password is “Administrator/configuration”, without the quotation marks. The
default password should be changed and the new password kept secure to prevent unauthorized
access to critical data and control functions.
•
The password should not be a word or an easily guessed variation of a word. However, it should be
easily remembered.
•
The password should contain 6-14 characters with letters, numbers, and special characters, for
example: uke45%.

5.9.2.2 Access Code - Local PC
The access code is a security feature for use with a PC connected to the USB connector on the Sageon
200A front panel. For this PC running Sageview to communicate with the Sageon 200A, the access code
entered in the PC must match the access code stored in the Sageon 200A. The user-selected access code is
a 7-digit number. The default access code is 0000000. No letters, spaces, or special characters may be
used.
In multiple Sageon 200A systems, each system should have a unique access code.
If a PC running Sageview attempts to access a Sageon 200A that has a different access code than the PC:
•
The Sageview background screens will be displayed
•
There will be no data populating the screens
•
An error message will appear at the PC, e.g. Error, Device on COM1 not responding
•
The communication status in the lower left corner of the PC screen will display “disconnected” on a
red background
