Sageon II 200A (N+1) Power Distribution System

Introduction

1.0  INTRODUCTION

The Sageon 200A provides -48 vdc, 200 ampere maximum load distribution in a variety of rack
combinations for standard floor mounting.  Based on modular switched-mode rectifier technology, the
plant allows custom configurations in multiples of 50 amperes with plug-in -48 vdc rectifier modules.
List 24, 25, 26, or 27 power plants with -48V/50A rectifiers can be configured for, 200 amps total
capacity (N+1).  Rectifier modules, optional power shelves, and additional distribution options must be
ordered separately.

The -48-volt distribution section provides positions for up to 20 bullet, AM1-type 5 to 100-ampere circuit
breakers (40 breakers in 2-tier distribution).  Circuit breakers 100 amperes and under require one breaker
position while breakers 125 amperes and over take up two breaker positions.  Two-hole lug landings are
provided with 1/4”-20 studs on 5/8” centers for each circuit breaker.  An adapter is provided for 125 amp
and larger breakers that combines two STD output buses into a single 3/8” stud connection (2-hole
landing).  Circuit breakers must be ordered separately.

The distribution cabinet bus work provides landings for four strings of battery cables.  The ground return
supports 20 two-hole lugs back to back terminations with 1/4”-20 studs on 5/8” centers.

Basic list numbers for plant configurations are without the low-voltage battery disconnect (LVBD).  A
200 amp battery disconnect can be ordered as an option.

This product manual describes installation, operation, and servicing of UNIPOWER Sageon 200A and
optional components.  The Sageon 200A is available as a 48V system 200 ampere at 48V.  Illustrations of
the Sageon 200As are provided in fig. 1-1 through 1-4.
