SECTION 3. INSTALLATION AND INTERCONNECTIONS
3.1 GENERAL
This section describes interconnecting cabling requirements, connector pin-out
assignments, and the installation procedures for the Model JPD-100 Joystick
Controller Unit.
3.2 INTERCONNECTING CABLING REQUIREMENTS
a. 8-Pin Telephone Jack Connector
A coiled cable assembly (P/N 849518-0306) is provided with the JPD-100
Joystick Controllers for connection from the 8-pin telephone jack to the
various equipment types. The 8-pin connector has the +5Vdc power input
connection required to operate the controller’s circuitry and the RS-422
communication connections to output control data and to receive data from
the CCU-100/CCU100A Central Control Unit or SSI-100 Small System
Interface.
CAUTION
Do not use commercially available
telephone-type cable to connect these
controllers to any interface equipment or
improper operation will result. Use only the
lower impedance cable supplied with the
unit to make connections.
