circuitry. A DIA-01 or DIA-01/X Control Interface Adapter is required for
connection to the rear panel COMM input port. The rear panel input port does
not provide the +5Vdc required by the JPD-100.
NOTE
Diamond recommends using a JPD-101 Controller for this application. The eight
function keys on the top of the JPD-100 Controller are not functional unless a
CCU-100 or SSI-100 Small Interface is installed. CATS Video Switcher monitor
sequences cannot be programmed or controlled using the JPD-100 Controller.
STAND-ALONE
The JPD-100 Controller can be used as a stand-alone unit, but Diamond
recommends using the JPD-101 Controller for this application. If this controller is
used as a stand-alone unit, it must be connected to a DIA-01 or DIA-01/X Control
Interface Adapter. The DIA-01 and DIA-01/X Adapters provide the +5Vdc power
required to operate the controller’s circuitry. These adapters also provide the
communications wiring interface between the controller and the SmartScan units.
NOTE
The eight function keys on the top of the JPD-

1.3 OPERATION
The JPD-100 Controller sends out RS-485 operator control data at 9600 baud to
perform the following system functions.
• Manual Control (pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and iris) of FastScan or SmartScan
units
