Fuel tanks
Check the tanks for porosity/ pin holes. The tanks can be
slightly compressed and put in water to check for bubbles. If any
pin holes are found, patch with Hysol E-20HP
Plumb the two saddle fuel tanks with the clunk/ vent/ fuel
stopper system as per the photo.
Drill a 3 mm hole at the bottom of the fuselage for the fuel vent.
We recommend the use of our Ultimate Fuel Buffer air trap to
make sure that there is no bubble in the fuel line.
The tubing used from the main tank to the air trap, from the air
trap to the fuel pump and for the vent line must be proper
gasoline tubing (no silicone tubing) like Tygon.
We recommend putting the air trap in the nose, on the optional engine accessory tray. Our 777 ml air trap
will ensure the ability to balance the plane without lead.
The fuel tanks slot in between the side mini formers
and the cockpit bulkhead. The fuel stopper should
face forward through the cockpit bulkhead
reservation made for this purpose. Make sure you
place the tanks properly ( left/ right ) without
overstressing the mini formers. The special bacquet
seat will lock the tanks in position.
