SERVICE AND REPAIR
16.1. General
For demanding repairs please contact your dealer. In the following we suggest measures that can
mostly be carried out at the farm. Read the maintenance instructions carefully. If you follow the
instructions your TUME-drill will work without any problems from year to year.
If the maintenance instructions are not followed, the manufacturer does not have any responsibility
on the machine.
16.2. Ordering spare parts
Should you need spare parts for the machine you can order them either through your dealer or
directly from the factory. When ordering carefully note the part number which you can find in the
spare part list delivered together with the machine. Thus you ensure that you get the right part.
Please also give the serial number on the shield.
16.3. Lubrication
16.3.1. General
The modern constructions have reduced the need of lubrication to a minimum without having
diminished the durability of the machine.
16.3.2. Lubrication points
Right machine end
-
the roll chains of the transmission must be lubricated every 50 operating hours with SAE 10
or SAE 20 oil.
Central regulation
-
the threated and gliding surfaces against the lug are lubricated twice a sowing period
16.4. Storage
Out of the season the drill is to be stored cleaned and serviced in a sheltered place. The machine is
cleaned after use both inside and outside. The hopper is emptied by opening the adjusting lever of
the bottom valves fully and the remaining seeds will then flow out. The remaining seeds are steered
by hand or with a brush through the feeding chambers out of the hopper.
If the remaining seed is dressed it has to be taken to a place intended for poisonous remains. The
drill is washed with water both inside and outside. Be careful when using a pressure cleaner. Do not
direct the jet stream directly on the bearings.
The machine is lubricated according to the instructions. After lubricating the roll chain it is
advisable to rotate the machine a little in order to make the oil penetrate into the chain links. Places
where the paint is worn out can be protected with a suitable thin protective oil.
The spring loading of the coulters is adjusted to zero.
Faults found in connection with cleaning are written down. The spare parts are ordered in good time
before the sowing season and the repairs are carried out.
