The number of turns in calibration test, which depend on the drill model, is given above the upper
left corner of the sowing chart in item ‘calibration test’.
9.
CALIBRATION TEST AND FIELD TEST
The calibration test is carried out as follows:
Because the setting values given in the sowing charts are only estimates a calibration test must be
carried out before starting sowing. Before starting the calibration test the drill is adjusted according
to the sowing chart.
Check
-
the gear ratio of the transmission (I or II)
-
the position of the bottom valves
-
the setting of the main scale
-
the setting of the hand wheel scale
-
that the locking plates are fully open
-
that there is seed in the hopper
The machine is lifted and the feeding system can then be rotated with the crank delivered together
with the machine. The crank is placed at the end of the intermediate shaft at the smaller end of the
cassette at the right machine end (fig. 21). Rotate the crank a couple of turns in order to fill the
feeding chambers properly. Adjust the drill in a horizontal position (seen from the side). Place the
calibration test troughs under the feeding chambers (fig. 22-23)
Fig. 21. Calibration test crank connected
-
lift the locking springs
-
turn the trough down
-
remove the t rough
-
push the supporter of the cones forwards – push both ends of the supporter simultaneously
-
place the calibration test troughs under the feeding chambers on the shelves designed for
them
