5) Carefully light the match.

6) Bring the match close to the burner.  Press and turn the control knob

counterclockwise until the “MAX” position is aligned with the indicator arrow

(Pic. 28).

7) If the burner does not ignite, go back to “Lighting the burner with a match” (Step 2)

until you can see a flame in the burner.

 DANGER!

• If the burner does not ignite after consecutive attempts, switch the grill off as

instructed below. Wait five minutes for the gas to dissipate before trying again.
• If it still does not ignite, please refer to “Troubleshooting”.

8) After lighting the chosen burners, reposition the grate and/or cast iron hot plate.
9) In the case of internal burners, close the lid and leave the grates and hot plate to

preheat at maximum power for about ten minutes.
10) Store the match holder together with the manual in a safe place, away from the

reach of children and animals.
11) After the grill is preheats, turn the control knobs to adjust the flame as desired

for each burner. This will save gas.
12) After using, turn the control knob clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned

with the indicator arrow.
13) Cut the gas supply after using.

 DANGER

• If you smell gas:
1 - Switch the grill off by turning the control knob clockwise until the “OFF”

position is aligned with the indicator arrow.
2 - Close the cylinder valve.
3 - Open the lids.
4 - Do not light any type of flame, spark, matches, or any other electrical equipment.
5 - Wait at least five minutes for the gas to dissipate before relighting the grill.
6 - If the smell persists, do not use the grill and contact technical support or an

authorized representative immediately.
7 - If there are no problems with the product, please check the gas supply system.

• Failure to comply with these instructions might result in an explosion or a fire,

causing damage to property, personal injury, or even death.

9. USEFUL GUIDELINES

9.1. BEGINNING TO USE THE GAS GRILL

To operate your grill according to the guidelines below, please refer to the operation

and lighting instructions.

Method of cooking:

Use the grate and the hot plate for cooking, keeping the bottom part of the food in

direct contact with the heat.

During preparation, only open the lid to turn the food, keeping it closed the rest of

the time.  This will prevent internal heat loss.

Please refer to the recipe for recommended preparation time or follow your

preference.

Side burner:

Using the trivet provided, the TGP-4700 grill has a side burner to heat up and cook

food in heatproof cookware with a flat bottom (saucepans, frying pans, etc.) up to

20 cm in diameter.

Wooden cutting board:

The cutting board included with your grill can be used to prepare food. If you prefer,

the board can also be used to serve the grilled meat.  After each use, wash the

cutting board with warm water and mild detergent.

Excess fat:

The excess fat pours into the drip tray on the bottom of the grill.

9.2. STEPS FOR A GREAT BARBECUE

Please follow these guidelines to prepare your barbecue:

• The internal heat intensity can be increased or reduced by turning the control

knobs.

• The grill is equipped with a thermometer which enables you to gauge the internal

temperature, making cooking easy.

• Make sure that the food does not touch the lid when closing it.

• In order to keep food juicy, we recommend using Tramontina spatulas or tongs to

prevent creating holes in the food.

• To preserve the natural juices in foods, avoid pressing them against the grate.

• Do not defrost beef, fish, or chicken at room temperature. Defrost in the fridge.

• Wash hands thoroughly with water and soap before handling, preparing, or

consuming food.

• Use different boards for cutting raw and cooked foods.

• Wash all kitchen utensils with warm water and soap, rinsing them well before

using.

10. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

To maintain your grill’s good performance and make it last longer, follow the

cleaning guidelines below after each use:

 DANGER

• Do not touch or carry out any cleaning/maintenance tasks on your grill if it’s not

switched off and if it hasn’t completely cooled down.
• Make sure that the control knobs are set to “OFF”. If they’re not, turn the knobs

clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned with the indicator arrows. Remove the

gas cylinder before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance tasks.

10.1. EXTERNAL SURFACES

To clean the external lid and cookbox of the grill, use a soft sponge, mild detergent,

and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and keep it dry.
Never use oven cleaners or abrasive cleaning products, as these might damage

your grill surfaces.
For easier cleaning, the grill control knobs can be removed.
