DANGER
• After not using the grill for a long time, checking for leaks. Verifying the
conditions of the connections is necessary as well as cleaning and maintenance
work as there might be changes to the quality of the burners’ flame. Insects and
spiders could also be inside the burners. (Please refer to instructions for a gas leak
test, cleaning, and maintenance)
• When the appliance is transported or handled, some parts might become loose or
damaged. Check these before each use.
• Check for gas leaks every time you connect your grill to a gas cylinder.
8. IGNITION INSTRUCTIONS
(Read all instructions contained in this manual before operating the grill or
whenever questions arise).
1) Open the lid of the burner you wish to use.
2) Make sure that the control knobs are set to “OFF”. If they’re not, turn the knobs
clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned with the indicator arrows.
3) Make sure that the gas cylinder valve is open.
4) Press the control knob of your chosen burner and turn counterclockwise until the
“MAX” position is aligned with the indicator arrow and there’s a flame in the burner
(Pic. 25).
(For lighting to be effective, the ignition button should click every time it’s pressed).
5) Verify if the burner is lit. If it’s not, go back to step 2 until you can see a flame in
the burner.
DANGER
• If the burner does not ignite after consecutive attempts, switch the grill off as
instructed below. Wait five minutes for the gas to dissipate before trying again.
• If it still does not light, please refer to “Troubleshooting”.
6) In the case of internal burners, close the lid and leave the grates and hot plate to
preheat at maximum power for about 10 minutes.
7) When the grill is preheated, turn the control knobs to adjust the flame as desired
for each burner. This will save gas.
8) After using, turn the control knob clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned
with the indicator arrow.
9) Turn off the gas supply after using.
DANGER
• The lid must always remain open while lighting.
• Wait at least five minutes for the gas to dissipate if the burner does not ignite.
• If the burner’s flame suddenly goes out, switch the grill off and turn off the gas
supply.
• Clean the inside of the grill and the drip tray before each use. Excess grease and
residue inside it can cause a fire.
• If the problem of the ignition system persists, please contact technical support or
an authorized representative.
• Failure to comply with these warnings and precautionary measures could result
in a fire or an explosion causing damage to property, serious bodily injury, or even
death.
8.1. “BRIDGE” IGNITION BETWEEN INTERNAL BURNERS
The TGP-4700 grill has a “Bridge” system (Pic. 26), which enables one internal
burner to light the other two through the gas vent and the control knob.
Example:
If internal burner A is lit, burner B can be lit through the gas vent by using the
control knob.
Burner C can also be lit by the same “Bridge” system if burner B is lit.
ATTENTION
• Burner A cannot light burner C and vice versa.
ATTENTION
• If a burner doesn’t light, it can be lit with a match. (Please refer to “Lighting the
burner with a match”.)
• Before that, check if the burner is dry, if holes are obstructed, if there is a problem
with the gas supply, if the gas cylinder valve is closed, if there are any leaks in the
system, or if the gas cylinder is empty. Any of these conditions can compromise your
grill’s performance.
8.2. LIGHTING THE BURNER WITH A MATCH
1) Open the lid of the burner you wish to use.
2) Make sure that the control knobs are set to “OFF”. If they’re not, turn the knobs
clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned with the indicator arrows.
3) Remove the grate and/or the cast iron hot plate, according to the burner you need
to light.
4) Attach the match to the match holder (Pic. 27).
(The match holder is included with the instructions manual).
