SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ƒ
Always use with only one operator.
ƒ
Never exceed 50 kg compact and safe loads – including rope weight.
ƒ
Always check the rope type and wear before use (Ø 18/20 mm).
ƒ
Always check the safety latch before use (for DB50 models).
ƒ
Always check that the anchorage point supports a minimum load of 108 kg.
ƒ
Always check all the braking components (wedge, rope, sheave) after any drop of the hoisted
load or sudden blocking of the rope.
ƒ
Any part with a defect must be replaced by a TRACTEL SOLUTIONS SAS genuine part.
ƒ
Any deformed equipment must be immediately withdrawn from use
CAUTION
To guaranty its safety function, the POULISTOP2 wedge should always be kept free to move and clean.
Ice or mud could alter its functioning. It is not recommended to use the POULISTOP2 during freezing
temperatures.
The efficiency of the safety system depends on the friction between, the rope and the wedge. Those
components should then be systematically checked, and replaced when necessary. Always change the
wedge when using a new rope.
The operator should never leave the load without surveillance.
To avoid excessive wear of the wedge and non-monitored breaking distances, the operator should
always get close to the vertical position of the load before releasing the rope, avoiding this way violent
blockings between the rope, the wedge and the pin. When this occurs, it is therefore important to
control that there are no evident signs (at sight or touch) of damage of the outside fibres.
COMPULSARY INSPECTIONS AND CHECKS
All maintenance inspections and operations must be performed by qualified and trained specialists.
ƒ
Check on start-up (or starting back up): in compliance with the national regulations.
ƒ
Compulsory periodical check in compliance with the national regulations. Recommended at least
every 12 months by TRACTEL SOLUTIONS SAS.
ƒ
A thorough examination paying particular attention to any alteration of parts due to an impact,
corrosion, cracking or deformation must be conducted at least twice a year, and every month in the
case of heavy-duty use or in an aggressive atmosphere.
