8-2. Steps to take in an emergency

Lower the vehicle.

Using the small end of the jack

handle, slightly unscrew the pres-

sure release valve. After removing

the jack from under the vehicle,

completely screw in the pressure

release valve.

Firmly tighten each wheel nut or stop bolt two or three times in the

order shown in the illustration.
Wheel nuts: Use the large end of the wheel nut wrench to loosen

the nuts.
Stop bolts: Use the small end of the wheel nut wrench to loosen the

stop bolts.

When the rear inner tire is removed, tighten the stop bolts first and then the

wheel nuts.

Tightening torque:

515 N•m (52.5 kgf•m, 380 ft•lbf)



Left side wheels



Right side wheels

Tighten the wheel nuts or stop

bolts counterclockwise.

Tighten the wheel nuts or stop

bolts clockwise.
