2.11 Keyboard Controller
The T2200SX uses one microprocessor as the Keyboard Controller (KBC). The microprocessor
consists of the keyboard controller, keyboard scan controller, and mouse controller.
2.11.1 Key Code Generation
The T2200SX keyboard has 82/84 keys on it, and when a key is pressed its corresponding key code
is generated.
There are two sets of scan codes that the T2200SX supports: scan code set 1 and scan code set 2.
There are two differences between these scan code sets. One is a byte code assigned to the key, and
the other is a break code that is generated when a pressed key is released.
And, there are several modes of the keyboard, as listed below.
Table 2-7 Keyboard mode
When
Fn
is pressed, an overlay LED is toggled.
The
Fn
key is used not only for a ten-key overlay operation, but also for system control operation
and key expansions such as the right
Alt
key, right
Ctrl
key, and the ten-key
Enter
key. These
combinations are active regardless of the mode.
