The
{format code}
is used to determine which set of
{format settings}
are used below
For PDF formats
{format settings}
refers to a series of letters that correspond to the permissions you wish to be
ENABLED in the PDF output (e.g. "hacp"). Kindly note that the first letter should always
correspond to the type of encryption that is to be used in the generation of the output (i.e. "l" for
40-bit RC4 encryption or "h" for 128-bit RC4 encryption). Encryption must be set at either 40-bit
or 128-bit to be able to enable permissions. The following codes are accepted:

{permissions password}
is also known as the
Owner password
. This allows the user to
enable certain permissions in the output PDF. The document may still be opened for reading but
changing of permissions will require the permissions password to be entered.
{document open password}
is also known as the
User password
. Setting this password will
stop unauthorized users from viewing the contents of the document unless the proper password
has been entered.
It would be preferable to have a more descriptive value rather than the code. For example it
would be easier for the user to select
Image PDF
rather than
PDF3
. However this will need to
be deferred to a later release.
