Remove all adjusting wrenches from the working area.
Do not touch in the space round the work when remove the chips or sludge.
14. Do not try to handle the guards in turning process.
15. Do not place your hands or body on moving parts of lathe and workpiece. Be careful of the parts which can fall down
from the lathe.
CAUTION:
Be still aware that your health and safety are in geopardy in the dangerous space.
16. Be careful of a danger of injury resulted from the possible power movement by means of clutch operated levers,
operating gears and handles.
17.
Follow all lathe operator activities
in accordance with this Manual
for ensuring the relevant operation
(determined
e.g. by a technological process).
18.
Before starting work spindle rotation be sure that the chuck wrench has been removed from chuck
. ( chucks with
wrench ejector should be used if possible).
19. Be careful in case of positioning of work spindle or carriage.
20. Take regard to workpiece mass in starting the machine.
21. Total stoppage of lathe should be done according to the Manual!
22.
If the lathe is without operator it must be total dead!
23.
CAUTION
: before turning, the following parts must be tighten fast:
- chuck jaws or face plate where the workpiece is clamped.
- nuts and screws for clamping the chuck or face plate on the work spindle flange.
- nuts or screws locking the tailstok position in the transversal and longitudinal direction and the tailstok sleeve in
longitudinal direction.
- dogs.
- tool.
- fixing of tailstock should be checked before starting the machine and after workpiece exchange.
24. Be aware of a danger starting in the activities which are held in the proximity of rotary parts (lead screw, bar, spindle
and things like that, particularly if they are uncovered).
Stay alert and watch what you are doing.
25. Great care must be taken of all uncommon works and operations.
26. Do not wear clothing with flying and flowing parts.
27. Be careful of your hair in the rotary parts proximity (hair covering should be used).

be used in accordance with this Manual.
30. Cutting depth for corresponding operation should be set up in accordance with the technological process. As far as the
cutting depth is not mentioned in the technological process then its max. dimension is limited by the cutting force in
accordance with this Manual.
31. When untypical operations like grinding, filing, polishing and deburring is carried out the cutting force is to be limited at
minimum as far as the material removal is still ensured.
CAUTION:
(operator) In carrying out untypical operations the requirements of safety of work must be respected for the
recommended operations.
32. The fine chips should be removed by a suitable method. ( Do not remove them with compressed air). The fine chips
should be removed carefully regarding with risk of their sticking on workpiece and chuck. Use personal safety aids (gloves
etc.).
CAUTION:
The cutting lubricant must not be released from the chips during transport.
