CAUTION:

These values are target, the actual cutting force depends on the chip shape and other factors.

Example:
Workpiece of 700 mm dia is to be turned by cutting speed v = 50 m/min.
According to the table (Fig. 11.1) spindle speed n = 22,4 r.p.m.. By the line interpolation the chip section is about 11,2
square millimeters from 630 mm dia to 800 mm dia and n = 22,4 r.p.m. for material strengh of 700 MPa in full lathe
utilization.

Warning:

the chip section values are valid only for workpiece material strengh of 700 MPa and 0,3 mm p.r. feed. For some other
material strengh a correction must be made.
