Start-up
If you use lead batteries (gel/AGM), we recommend batteries with at least 150 Ah
per battery. The batteries are combined into two groups, each having four batteries
connected in series,
see
"Fig. 43: Wiring diagram for lead batteries"
the cable set provided.
For series connection of the batteries, use the
Cruise 10.0 lead bank cable set (Art. No. 1940-00,
see
).
If you operate the Cruise 10.0 T using only two lead batteries (gel/AGM), then you
must use a cable set having at least 70 mm² cross-section (not included in the scope
of delivery). For this, contact a boat electrician.
For more complex battery combinations, contact a boat electrician.
ADVICE
Use maintenance-free and gas-free batteries exclusively.
1. Confirm that the main switch of the cable set is in the "OFF" or "0” position. If
necessary, place it in the "OFF" or "0" position.
2. Connect your cable set as per the illustrations.
ADVICE
Ensure that the positive and negative clamps are connected to the correct termi-
nals (recognisable from the markings on batteries and clamps).
3. Throw the main switch over, or set it into the "ON" or "I" position.
The batteries are connected to the motor.
5.5.5 Other loads
CAUTION!
Damage to the battery.
This can result in deep discharging of the battery and electrolytic corrosion.
■
Do not connect other loads (e.g. fish finder, light, radios etc.) to the same
battery bank that operates the motors.
Torqeedo recommends that a separate battery is always connected to other loads.
