Sharpening the Blades
1.
Use a file to sharpen the cutting edge at both ends of
the blade (
).
Note:
Maintain the original angle.
Note:
The blade retains balance if you remove the
same amount of material from both cutting edges.

Check the balance of the blade by putting it on a blade
balancer (
Note:
If the blade stays in a horizontal position, the
blade is balanced and ready to use.

If the blade is not balanced, file some metal off the end
of the sail area only (
).
4.
Repeat this procedure until the blade is balanced.
Installing the Blades
1.
Install the blade onto the spindle shaft (
).
Important:
The curved part of the blade must
point upward toward the inside of the mower to
ensure proper cutting.
2.
Install the spring disk and blade bolt (
Note:
Install the spring-disk cone toward the bolt
head.
3.
Torque the blade bolt to 115 to 150 N∙m (85 to 110
ft-lb).
