Safety precautions to take during maintenance work

Warning !

Starting conditions before any intervention:

- Machine power off, main electrical switch locked.
- Wear gloves to avoid all risks of getting cut by chips or sheet metal working.

Do not touch the motor casing when it is still hot!

Danger !

Stop and disconnect the machine from the power supply before performing any
work on it !

If electricity is required to perform certain maintenance tasks, only a qualified and
trained person is authorised to work on the machine whose main QS0 switch is
on !

Warning !

Make sure the axis belts are changed by a professional who has attended a
TORNOS SA maintenance training !

Before you change the belt of a vertical axis, lock the carriage to keep it from slid
ing down in free fall !

Danger !

Risk of being drawn or snatched !

Make sure the following are actually at a standstill:
- the slides
- the spindles
- as well as all turning parts.

Danger !

Risk of burns !

Make sure the temperature of the power parts is low enough.

Warning !

Lock the carriage of the axis provided with the carriage weight compensation
spring to keep it from sliding up abruptly.
