Keep the membranes wet once they get wet. If the membranes are
allowed to dry out, the permeability of the membranes may be
permanently reduced.
8. Air Diffuser Replacement
At first, lift the module out of the tank according to the lifting procedure described in the
former section. Then, take the following steps to replace the air diffuser. Bolt size is M12.
NHPA050/100-F has one header pipe and NHPA150-F has two header pipes. NHPA150-F
has six air diffuser pipes with two different lengths.
The following figures show the case of NHPA150-F.
(1) Disjoint the header pipe from the
aeration block. Only one side is shown,
and the cover plate is omitted in the left
figure for your easy understanding.
(2) Unscrew the air diffuser pipes from the
header pipe.
(3) Seal the nipples
of new air diffusers
with Teflon seal tape.
(4) Joint the new air diffusers to the header
pipes. Use the pipe wrench to tighten the
joint (Don’t fasten tight by grabbing the
rubber part of the diffuser). Make sure that
the surface of the rubber part having no
holes (slits) must face upward or downward
(The surface on which stainless
clamps are
fixed must face upward or downward).
In case of NHPA150-F, since two different
lengths of the rubber diffusers are to be
handled, take enough care to joint air
diffusers considering the position of the
