LUBRICATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION
• Do not fill the engine with oil, or start the engine
within 15 minutes after oil case installation.
Apply engine oil to a new O-ring [1], and install it to the
oil strainer [2].
Apply a bead [
Φ 1.0 mm (0.04 in)] of the liquid gasket
(Threebond ® #1211, Hondabond HT, Hondabond 4, or
equivalent) to the upper and lower area of the gasket [1]
as shown.
Install a new oil case gasket [3] and oil strainer and
tighten the four bolts (6 x 18 mm) [4] to specified torque.
• Install the oil case gasket within 90 minutes after
applying the sealant.
Set the oil case [5] to the mount case, and install the
twenty-one washers (8 mm) [6] and twenty-one bolts (8
x 35 mm) [7].
Install the oil level gauge [8].
Apply marine grease to the entire circumference of the
water tube grommet [1] and install it.
Set the water tube [2] and stopper plate [3] and tighten
the bolt (6 x 16 mm) [4].
Set the two new exhaust pipe gaskets [5], exhaust
pipes [6], and tighten the six washers (8 mm) [7] and six
bolts (8 x 28 mm) [8].
Install the extension case:
– Standard rotation type (page 16-13)
– Counter rotation type (page 17-12)
Install the new drain plug washer and oil drain plug to
the oil case and refill the engine oil (page 3-4).
TORQUE: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7 lbf·ft)
