6 – SAFETY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Check the following points regularly :
•
The tightness of the wheels (18 Nm for the front, 30 Nm for the back)
•
Wear and tear to the tires (replace the tires as soon as the wear indicator has been reached) and ensure that the tire pressure is between 60 to 65 Psi-/ 2.8 to 4.5 bars. Your TilBike’s
tires are compatible and no modification need be made. Only appropriate spare parts (tires, inner tubes etc) should be used. Contact your dealer for more information.
•
Check the tightness of the handlebar (19.6 Nm), pedals (19.6 Nm), saddle (13 Nm).
Because of the TilBike’s weight and the inertia caused by the motor, anticipate braking distances especially in the rain.
Your TilBike is suitable for use in towns and for rides in the country.
DO NOT USE THE TILBIKE LIKE A MOUNTAIN BIKE.
Any person riding a bike on the public highway must respect and apply the highway code of the country where they are as well as the legal requirements for this type of transport (e.g.:
lighting, signaling, wearing a helmet (advisable) reflectors etc ...).
To ensure that your bike is used safely, we recommend that you periodically check and control: the brakes (wear and tear to the pads), the condition of the wheel rims and spokes (wear
and tear to the wheel rims and spokes), the condition of the tires, the steering (fixing, tightness of wheel nuts and all the specific components on your vehicle. Wheel rims should be
smooth and without cracks, breakage or deformations. If you notice any anomalies on the wheel rims, have them overhauled immediately.
WARNING
Like all mechanical components a bike is subject to stress and wear and tear. Materials and components can react differently to wear or fatigue.
If a component is too old it may suddenly break with the risk of injuring the cyclist. Cracks, scratches and discoloration in zones which are subject to high stress indicate that the part is
worn out and should be replaced.
It is also important for your safety to replace critical components which are worn or which have other problems (e.g. tires, wheel rims etc) with original parts. Contact your dealer
concerning this.
DO NOT SIT ON THE BIKE WHEN IT IS ON THE BIKE STAND BECAUSE YOU RISK BREAKING IT AND FALLING AWKWARDLY.
•
Be careful and don't spend too long looking at Tilbike’s display screen when riding. For your personal safety, it is advisable to systematically switch the Tilbike’s lights on
•
It is strongly recommended to wear a helmet
•
It is compulsory to wear a reflective vest when riding at night or during the day when visibility is low.
