9) Adjusting the vents:
As previously described, there are two vents on top of the cabinet (see photo 4 below). The air
inlet vent has a hole in it which acts as a relief valve when closing the door.
Both vents are adjustable so that the operator can increase or decrease the amount of ambient
air that is mixed with air inside the cabinet.
For higher humidity both vents will be closed, for lower humidity the vents will be more open.
The ambient temperature and humidity will have a large bearing on the temperature and
humidity attainable inside the cabinet. If the cabinet is in an air conditioned environment, which
would normally be at a low humidity (45 to 55%RH), then the operator could expect to achieve
lower humidity inside the cabinet.
See the graph on page 16 as a rough guide to the humidity levels that can be achieved with
vents open or vents closed.
