Measurement

The “Measurement” screen provides a selection of Free Chlorine or HOCL

concentration.

The “pH Source” screen provides a way to select the source of the pH value in the chlorine calculation. If a pH

DataStick is detected by the AV38, this selection becomes available. If a pH DataStick is detected by the
AV38, then “pH DataStick” can also be selected. When this is done, the measured pH value is used to

calculate the selected concentration.

Note: If a pH DataStick is used to calculate the concentration, the sensor units must
be pH. If they’re not, then the concentration calculation will be done using the value

entered through the Fixed pH Value screen.

The “Fixed pH Value” screen provides a way to set a fixed pH value that can be used to calculate free chlorine
concentration from the HOCL measurement. This single fixed entry can be used when a pH DataStick is not

present or when the process pH is tightly controlled to a known value. The default value is 7.00 pH.
