Turning On the UV/Vis Detector for the First Time

To turn on the UV/Vis detector for the first time

1. Ensure that the power switch at the front of the unit is in the Off position (released or out 

position) (see 

Figure 8 

on 

page 6

). 

2. Ensure that the UV/Vis detector is properly connected to the data system computer.

3. Check the fuse size. 

You can operate the UV/Vis detector at 100/115 V or 230 V. However, you must ensure 
that the appropriate fuses are installed (see 

“Checking the Power Setting and Fuses” 

on 

page 12

).

4. Plug the power cord into the power receptacle on the back panel of the detector 

(see

Figure 9 

on 

page 6

) and connect it to the power source.

5. Turn the power on by pushing in the power switch on the front panel (see 

Figure 8 

on 

page 6

).

IMPORTANT  

Before you use the UV/Vis detector for data acquisition, install the flow 

cell cover, which minimizes thermal fluctuations.
