6.12 T1 Transformer Test Procedure
Disconnect and isolate the t r ansfo r me r seconda r y wi r e f r om the Rectifie r Assembly Te r minal AC1. Refe r to
Figu r e 6-1. Connect the mete r between the wi r e that was r emoved f r om te r minal AC1 to te r minal AC2. Close the
MIG gun switch and obse r ve the voltage. Repeat this test fo r each position of the Voltage Cont r ol Switch.

6.13 C1 & C2 Test Procedure
Use a Capacito r Teste r if available, othe r wise visually check C1 & C2 fo r damage and make su r e the r elief valve is not
blown. Disconnect one of the wi r es connecting C1 & C2 to the r ectifie r assembly. Check continuity between the two
buss ba r s on C1 & C2. The mete r should show a cha r ging action. Reve r se the pola r ity of the p r obes and you should
see the r eading dec r ease to ze r o and then sta r t a cha r ging action again.
Replace the capacito r s if a sho r t o r open is found. Reconnect wi r es that we r e p r eviously r emoved.
