2.07 Duty Cycle
Duty Cycle is the amount of a r c-on time (actual welding time) du r ing any 10 minute pe r iod that a machine can ope r ate
at it’s r ated output without damaging inte r nal components. Fo r example, the Fab r icato r 180 is designed fo r 25% duty
cycle at 130 amps. This means that it has been designed and built to p r ovide the r ated ampe r age, 130 amps, fo r 2.5
minutes out of eve r y 10 minute pe r iod. Du r ing the othe r 7.5 minutes of the 10 minute pe r iod, the Fab r icato r 180 must
idle and be allowed to cool. The the r mal cutout will ope r ate if the duty cycle is exceeded.
The Fab r icato r 140 is designed fo r 20% duty cycle at 90 Amps.
The Fab r icato r 180 is designed fo r 25% duty cycle at 130 Amps
If the unit ove r heats and the the r mostat opens, wait 15 minutes fo r unit to cool.
