3.08 Polarity Changeover

Connection for GMAW (reverse polarity DCEP)
1. Open the doo r to the machine.
2. Remove the pola r ity te r minal knobs.
3. Set up the pola r ity (as pe r Table 3-1 above) by
r emoving the leads f r om the te r minals and
r eve r sing them if necessa r y. Refe r to Figu r e 3-4.
4. Replace the pola r ity te r minal knobs.
NOTE
Ensu r e that the pola r ity te r minal knobs a r e
tightly secu r ed and that the r e is no connection
between positive and negative te r minals.
Connection for FCAW (straight polarity DCEN)
1. Open the doo r to the machine.
2. Remove the pola r ity te r minal knobs.
3. Set up the pola r ity (as pe r Table 3-1 above) by
r emoving the leads f r om the te r minals and
r eve r sing them if necessa r y. Refe r to Figu r e 3-5.
4. Replace the pola r ity te r minal knobs.
NOTE
