6.02 Initial Setup Conditions
This section is to help isolate the defective ci

cuit befo

oubleshooting, identify symptoms, and test the unit fo

ation. Follow the inst

uctions as given to
identify the possible symptom(s) and the defective ci
r
cuit.

A. Connect the gas supply to the

ea
r
of the Powe

Supply.
B. Adjust the inlet p

essu
r
e to app

oximately 20 CFH.

C. Set the powe

supply cont

ols as follows:
1. VOLTAGE CONTROL SWITCH SW1 to Position 0.
2. WIRE SPEED CONTROL Potentiomete

to 0 (Fully
Counte

Clockwise).
3. Connect wo

k cable to negative (-) Pola
r
ity Change
Ove
r
te
r
minal.
4. Disconnect the wi
r
e f
r
om the Feed Head assembly
f
r
om the positive (+) Pola
r
ity Change Ove
r
te
r
minal.
5. Open the PRESSURE ADJUST DEVICE so the wi
r
e
will not feed.
6. With the P

ima
r
y Line Disconnect in the OFF
position, plug the input powe
r
co
r
d into the
p
r
ima
r
y line outlet.
6.03 Primary Power Test
A. Close the P
r
ima
r
y Line Disconnect and obse
r
ve the
following:
1. Unit should
r
emain off, nothing happens.
B. Tu
r
n VOLTAGE CONTROL SWITCH to position 1 and
obse
r
ve the following:
1. G
r
een AC LED tu
r
ns on.
2. Fan tu
r
ns on.
3. OVERTEMP LED is off.
4. Output Voltage measu
r
es 0 VDC.

Test. If the above steps

oceed to the next section, Logic and

ol Test. If the unit does not function as detailed
above, note the symptom and p

6.04 Logic & Control Test
A. Close the MIG gun switch.
1. Gas flows.
2. Feed

es 21 VDC.
B. Release the MIG Gun Switch.
1. Gas flow stops.
2. Feed

oll stops tu
r
ning.
3. Output Voltage slowly dec

eases to 0 VDC.
C. Disconnect one of the wi
r
es connected to the
tempe
r
atu
r
e switch located on the
r
ectifie
r
heat sink:
1. Yellow OVERTEMP LED tu
r
ns on.
D. Close the MIG gun switch and obse
r
ve the following:
1. Gas does not flow.
2. Feed
r
oll does not tu
r
n.
3. Output Voltage measu
r
es 0 VDC.
